By foot, boat and all-terrain vehicle, you’ll visit secluded villages, delve deep into Inuit culture and tradition, and brave the elements in search of only-in-the-Arctic wildlife against the most stunning landscapes you’ll ever see.

Arviat Whale Watching

Day 1 – Arviat
Arrive at any time and transfer to your hotel. This evening attend a welcome meeting at the hotel including a local dinner featuring traditional foods. After dinner, enjoy a historical presentation from your local guide. (D)

Day 2 – Arviat
Today embark on a guided tour of the community and surrounding area, learning about the town's history and culture. Hike to the site of the Hudson's Bay Company outpost and meet some local dog mushers and their teams. (B, L, D)

Day 3 – Arviat
A highlight of the day is a boat tour to the Arvia'juaq National Historic site, where you will enjoy amazing wildlife viewing with the chance to see birds, whales and—if you’re very lucky—polar bears. The island of Arvia’juaq and associated mainland point, Qikiqtaarjuk, are dedicated to preserving a cultural site of national historic importance. These two places have long been of great significance to the Pallirmiut Inuit who now live in the Hamlet of Arviat. In 1995, both were designated as National Historic Sites by the Government of Canada. (B, L, D)

Day 4 – Arviat
Learn about the Inuit culture and history with local townspeople, and enjoy demonstrations of drum dancing and throat singing. There will be a stop for traditional tea and bannock at a local artist's home, followed by a visit to the Kiluk Sewing Centre for a demonstration and shopping. (B, L, D)

Day 5 – Arviat
Embark on an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) adventure to the Qikitaajuaq National Historic site. Enjoy the amazing Arctic scenery, wildlife and even do some berry-picking. (B, L, D)

Day 6 – Arviat
Your vacation ends after breakfast. Transfer to the airport. (B)
